Celta strengthens its commitment to the A Canteira Experience program by welcoming ten young footballers from Denmark and the United States, who have been able to share the methodology and values of the club’s academy during their stay in Galicia.
The group, made up of eight Danish players and two Americans aged between 9 and 18, enjoyed a comprehensive training experience in a professional environment. During their stay, the participants integrated into the club’s working dynamics, training at the A Madroa sports complex, the epicenter of Celta’s youth talent development. There, they were able to learn firsthand about the methodological principles that define the club’s training model, based on the technical, tactical, and personal development of players.
The stays had a flexible duration, adapting to the needs and availability of each participant, with programs ranging from one week to one and a half months. This diversity made it possible to offer a personalized experience, combining sporting demands with cultural learning. During this period, the young players stayed at the residence of Los Sauces Pontevedra School, an environment within the Celta360 ecosystem that promotes coexistence, discipline, and personal growth.
Beyond the daily work on the field, the A Canteira Experience program also focuses on bringing participants closer to the club’s identity and history. In this regard, the players visited the Celta museum at the ABANCA Balaídos stadium, where they learned about the most significant moments in the club’s history. They also attended a Celta Fortuna match, experiencing firsthand the competitive atmosphere and demands of youth football in Spain.
This experience also represents a milestone within the club’s international strategy, as it is the first initiative developed together with TFL, within the framework of the agreement reached with Wakatake Group. The incorporation of this new strategic partner strengthens the project’s expansion beyond Japan, opening new opportunities in key markets such as the United States and Scandinavia.
Through this collaboration, Celta and its partners will work together to develop training programs and international experiences that help export the A Canteira model, consolidating the club’s global presence and strengthening its position as a reference in the development of young athletes.
