Rodrigo Gadea Establishes Himself in Professional Uruguayan Football After His Time at A Canteira Experience

The international A Canteira Experience program once again demonstrates its global impact and its ability to develop young talent through the comprehensive training approach promoted by Celta360. After seeing Joseph make the leap to Celta’s Under-18 B team, we are now celebrating another success story: that of Uruguayan footballer Rodrigo Gadea.

Born in 2006, Rodrigo arrived at the club’s facilities with a suitcase full of dreams and left with the training and preparation needed to build a career in his home country. During his stay in Vigo, the young player fully immersed himself in the unique methodology of Celta’s youth academy, a development model internationally recognized for its technical, tactical, and human excellence.

His time at A Canteira Experience not only helped refine his footballing abilities but also provided him with the mental, competitive, and professional tools required to succeed at the highest level of the game. Like all participants in the program, Rodrigo was assessed by Celta’s sporting department and, although there was no opportunity to place him within the club’s official structure, he was recognized as having the qualities necessary to pursue his career in Uruguay.

That step has now become a reality. The effort, discipline, and talent nurtured within the club’s development system have paid off: in 2026, Rodrigo Gadea officially became a professional footballer, joining the squad of the historic Racing Club de Montevideo, where he has been alternating appearances between the first team and the reserve side.

As a result, Rodrigo’s story is now written into the history of A Canteira Experience, further establishing the program not only as an unforgettable educational and sporting experience but also as a genuine and effective pathway to professional football when the right circumstances align.
