A Canteira Experience has successfully concluded its latest training experience in Japan, an initiative developed in collaboration with Wakatake Group that brought Celta’s training methodology and philosophy to 79 young footballers across three locations: Chiba, Aichi and Osaka.
The clinics, held during the second half of July, offered participants several days of training and learning under the guidance of Celta360 coaches, with the aim of bringing to Japan the working principles that define the club and focusing both on the players’ technical and tactical development and their overall development.
The participation was divided between 35 players in Chiba, 17 in Aichi and 27 in Osaka, completing another edition of A Canteira Experience in Japan and confirming the interest in and positive reception of Celta’s training model in the Asian country.
Beyond the participation figures, one of the highlights of this experience was the direct connection with the international project that A Canteira Experience develops throughout the year in Galicia alongside Wakatake Group. During the clinics, several Japanese players who are part of the annual programme at Celta’s facilities took part in the various activities and, in some cases, also joined the training sessions.
Rui, Ren, Rihito, Yua, Taiga, Masaya, Kohta, Kento and Kosuke were able to reconnect in Japan with the methodology and working environment they know from their experience in Vigo, becoming a tangible example of the connection between both initiatives and of the continuity that A Canteira Experience offers young Japanese footballers.
This relationship between Japan and Vigo represents one of the project’s main strengths: it is not simply about bringing Celta’s methodology to other countries on an occasional basis, but about creating a stable training environment that allows players to enjoy experiences both in their home country and at Celta’s training facilities and within the A Canteira environment.
The experience also included a visit from two members of the Peña Celtista in Japan, another example of the ties that connect Celta with the club’s community of supporters in Japan. With the conclusion of this Japanese tour, A Canteira Experience continues to move forward with its goal of sharing Celta’s training model internationally and creating new learning opportunities for young footballers.
