Afouteza received a very special visitor at midday today. Renowned Galician doctor, Manuel Viso, visited Celta’s facilities to see firsthand the work being done at the club and share experiences with some of the first team’s medical staff.
During his tour of Afouteza, Dr. Viso was accompanied by Ángel Piñeiro, Celta’s doctor, and Álex Rodríguez, the first team’s nutritionist, with whom he exchanged views on health, nutrition, and athletic performance. Also present was Fernando Iturbe, Head of Business Development at Celta360, one of the most exciting initiatives of the Celta organization.
Dr. Manuel Viso has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela and is a specialist in Hematology at the University Hospital Complex of A Coruña (CHUAC). He currently serves as head of Hematology at San Rafael Hospital, in addition to coordinating its Nutrition Unit and collaborating with the Internal Medicine service. He has a brilliant academic career, including several master’s degrees in Medical Management, Nutrition and Sports Supplementation, Pharmacology, and Molecular Biology, which has led him to become a great promoter of healthy habits, lecturer, and writer.
This visit to Afouteza was a valuable exchange of knowledge between professionals and reinforced Celta’s commitment to medical excellence, innovation, and comprehensive care for athletes. Thus, the club and Celta360 continue to advance and strengthen the connection between sports and health.
